Our library director mentioned to me earlier this morning that the sun always comes out on the first day of fall classes. Well, the sun is out! It’s been very foggy and downright chilly around here lately.

This blog is intended for the use of the students, faculty and staff of the SFSU College of Music, but I try to post things that may be interesting and helpful to the world at large as well.
Today is the first day of fall classes, so let me alert you to some things you will need to know about the library in general. First of all, the library is undergoing a reconstruction project that will change the way the library will bring its services to you. Things do change daily based on the progress of the construction, but we have been told that we can remain in our present building until the end of October, which is good news to all of us.
If you are new to the College of Music and SFSU, don’t hesitate to ask me or any of the other subject specialist librarians to help you. If you are not new to the College of Music or SFSU, you will probably still have questions. Don’t hesitate to ask us! What you ask today, may save you time and frustration tomorrow.
The J. Paul Leonard Library offers an Instant Messaging Service so you can get help remotely with your library and research related questions. Just IM us with your questions and we will try our best to answer them. Keep in mind that in-depth research assistance is best handled in person.

I encourage everyone to spend some time at the J. Paul Leonard Library Website. This portal allows you to search the Investigator catalog, and much more.
